
About OBN Performance
OBN Performance was founded in 2020 by Graham O' Brien to help athletes and professionals reach their full potential through evidence-based, high-performance coaching. Graham has since worked as a high-performance coach in elite and professional sport with athletes in cycling, football, GAA and Rugby.
Daily work with athletes at OBN includes strength and power development, endurance coaching, sports science support and injury rehabilitation through S&C, helping athletes achieve peak performance while tailoring the approach to each client’s unique goals.
Graham's academic background within sports science and strength & conditioning includes a Master’s degree in Sports Performance from the University of Limerick (1.1). An Honours degree from Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and the NCSC in Strength & Conditioning from Elite Performance Institute in Technological University of Dublin.
Graham is currently a PhD Researcher in Biomechanics at the University of Limerick, continuing to stay involved in research and education having spent time working as a Senior Technical Officer in the Department of Physical Education & Sports Sciences at University of Limerick. Previous experience also involves assessing students on modules such as Speed Development, Endurance Development, Youth Athletic Development and Advanced Resistance Training at Setanta College.
Having competed internationally as an elite cyclist, Graham understands the lifestyle of a high performance athlete. His coaching practices are guided by extensive applied coaching and athletic experience in elite sport and an academic background utilising evidence based practices.
